Buy Re-usables | Reduce your plastic waste and help save our oceans
Thanks to David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg, we are now far more aware of the impact plastic has on our oceans, wildlife and ecosystems.
How far can you walk without seeing plastic litter? The problem is plain to see. Whilst many of us are conscious recyclers, the simple fact is only 50%* of our plastic can be recycled, the rest is single use so it is only ever going to become plastic waste. And out of the 50% of plastic that is recyclable, only 9%* in the UK actually gets to be recycled. So, recycling more, and simply removing as much plastic waste as possible from our daily lives, are two easy ways we can help stop plastic pollution.
Due to COVID-19, it's even more important that we're conscious of waste, because all the PPE being used can't be recycled. Say 'no' to disposable masks and always carry your reusable one.
Going plastic-free has its perks too: cheaper coffee, free water, less litter across the city, cleaner parks and waterways.
We've rounded up some of the easy ways you can play your part in helping to reduce your plastic waste by switching to reusables and non plastic options:
- Reusable bags
- Reusable nappies
- Reusable coffee cups
- Reusable water bottles
- Plastic-free food containers
- Swap cling film for beeswax or vegan wraps
- Plastic-free straws
- Plastic-free razors
- Soap and shampoo bars.
